Daily Prompt : Synchronize

In response to daily prompt : SYNCHRONIZE

Synchronized traffic lights is rarely  seen,

driving is a pleasure when the lights   turn green.

But if you are unfortunate and the light turns red,

All you can see are streams of red lights ahead.

We must learn to share good and bad with ease,

We cannot have everything we please.

Enjoy while you can  every passing day,

Be prepared when things don’t go your way!

Today’s Prompt: GREEN

Mango_Grove,_Nueva_Ecija.jpg (604×453)

This green mango orchard reminds me of my home in Comilla, Bangladesh. Our orchard was in the back of our house. When the time came to pluck mangoes, our servant was delighted to get some. He knew he’d be able to eat as many as he could.

I loved raw mangoes more than ripe ones, we peeled the skin, sliced into thin shreds, used some cayenne pepper, a bit of sugar and milk, we mixed  the mango slices with the sugar, spices, and milk. and served them in fruit bowls, the taste was delicious.

My mom liked ripe ones more. We also used mango slices in lentil soup. It made the soup a bit sour and tasty.

DP Daily Prompts: Local color

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

Imagine we lived in a world that’s all of a sudden devoid of color, but where you’re given the option to have just one object keep its original hue. Which object( and which color) would that be?

In a world where everything and everyone is identifiable by color, it is tough to imagine it devoid of color. If for some reason we lose the colors of the world, it will be arduous to visualize such a world.

For a very long time blue was my favorite color, I wanted my mother to buy blue material for my dress, she did not disappoint me, why would she it made her task much easier.

If I were to choose a color and an object that would be my favorite color, it would either look odd or pretty depending on the object itself.

At this time I have more than one favorite color, if I select blue I’d be tired of seeing it day after day, next is green it too will tire me.

I will give up the option to decide the color and the object.

DP Daily Prompt: Bookworms Post by Ranu

Nigerian farmers working in field in Middle Belt

Nigerian farmers working in field in Middle Belt (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The word I found is ‘Nature’.I did a Google image  search of the word. This is what the image is. I am looking at it.On the ground is a large piece of land. The place is quiet, there is no movement on the field.I am imagining it to be a farmland, the farmers have left after planting the crops. The division of the field into rows gives the impression.

In the background there are many large trees, in between there is a path, perhaps it is where the houses of the farmers are located. Up above there are clouds moving in warning everyone the rain is about to fall, the farmers should take cover.

It must be a welcome sight for the people, the fields are dry, water is needed to enliven the field.

Soon nature will make everything green and lively, the plants will grow, the farmers will flock to the fields to harvest the crops. They will collect their produce and keep some for themselves and sell the rest.

Then they all will have ‘Thanksgiving’ dinner . They will sit around and make plans for next year’s crop.

Hemant kumar’s song Post and translation by Ranu

The precise turn is twisted,

this world is turning around

and changing into so many colors

with every beat.

Sometimes its tawny,sometimes green,

sometimes it’s reasonable,at other times stubborn.

Their affection is reciprocal one moment,

next  moment  they  dump it.

It’s a puzzle that’s why it’s twisted.

this merry-go-round

makes you cry and forget.

It’s white at times and black  next,

It’s sometimes evil,and sometimes good.

In life’s gamble if you win you are brave,

you are the biggest fool if you lose.

You are unfortunate,

and that is why it’s open sesame!

This is a short poem by Tagore. The title is , ‘A companion’

One afternoon, the beautiful day in the country side, persuaded me to go for a walk.

While walking along the side of a green grassy field,

I noticed a young dark girl sitting on the grass.

She was alone, quietly braiding her hair.

Her young frisky dog, watched her,

thinking it was  a game she was playing,

came right behind her to join in the game,

the woven braid swayed to and fro,the dog became increasingly excited,

first it continuously bit the braid,

the girl scolded him ,pulled the braid,

the dog jumped higher and higher and barked louder and louder,

it liked the game, the girl slapped it and scolded it.

She could not stop it.

Not knowing what to do, she picked him up and laid him on her chest.

She then stroked her pet gently and lovingly.
