DP Daily Prompt: Use It or Lose It

Write about anything you’d like, but make sure the post includes this sentence:

“I thought we’d never come back from that one.”

Harry was known for his evil ways, once he wanted to try how it feels to do something really outrageous, he did things to feel important and in his heart he was sure, he’d never get caught.

One day he visited his classmate Priscilla’s house. He made sure no one was at home, he found out Priscilla’s Mom always left the back door open. He went in through the back door, suddenly he felt extremely hungry,he quickly went to the kitchen to see if there was any food he could eat. He was lucky Mrs. Baker was having some company that day, she did part of her cooking in the morning, she baked a cake for dessert and left it on the table to cool. Harry’s mouth was watering at the sight of the delicious cake.

The fact he was not looking at his mom’s dessert but someone else’s completely slipped his mind, he took out a plate and helped himself to a large piece of the un-iced cake. He felt full but was thirsty so he poured a glass of water, after drinking it, he left it in the sink.

He took a short cut to go home, while walking along he started humming a tune in his off beat voice: “I ate a piece of cake so delicious and soft, I wish I carried another piece to my lovely loft!”

Priscilla happened to walk on the same path, she looked at him and said: “Please don’t sing with your hideous voice, its totally unbecoming!”

Harry ignored her and walked straight home.

Next day Harry invited his friend Jason to accompany him he  felt quite brave. He told Jason about the back door which was unlocked the last time he was there. This time it was locked , Harry told Jason to wait while he looks for a way to get in, luckily the kitchen window was open, he told Jason to wait outside the back door, which he’d open for his friend once he gets in through the window to the kitchen.

He entered the kitchen through the window it was not easy, but nothing is easy in life you have to strive to get what you want, he mumbled.He quickly went to the back door and opened it for Jason to come in.

The plan was to eat what they could and take some home,good plan isn’t it, they looked at each other with a broad smile 🙂

The kitchen table was full of varieties of food, they  were  unable to choose which one they  should try first  and then make up their  mind which smell was more inviting, is it on the left or on the  right. While they were thinking, they heard a click,followed by a bark and footsteps. Both Harry and Jason made a quick run for the back door, luckily no one was there and they were able to get out safely. Harry was breathing heavily, the thought that they were nearly caught made him more nervous.

Jason my dear he said : “I thought we’d never come back from that one!”

DP Daily Prompts:Enough is Enough

 

When was the last time you were ready to throw in the proverbial towel? Did you end up letting go, or decided to fight on anyway?

I had a very bad experience with ‘Sears’ the department store, three months ago I ordered a set of furniture from a picture the Sales lady showed me, it seemed quite attractive.

Three weeks later it was delivered to us, I was extremely disturbed to see it, it did not look anything like the one in the picture, I went to the store, to let them know I wanted to return it, the sales lady was off that day, the gentleman told me I had to go back on the day the lady was working.

Monday morning I went ,got the attention of the lady and told her I want to return the furniture because it was not the same one I ordered. She started talking about other sets on the floor, and would I be interested. I said I wanted my money refunded first then I’ll decide. I wasn’t sure if I told her I won’t buy it from them,what her reaction may be, she might refuse to take it back and I’d be stuck with a hideous looking furniture.

After contacting my credit card company several times I managed to get my money back, after two months.

This taught me a much needed lesson, I should not order anything by looking at a picture and the customer service in Sears is terrible, once you buy something from them, they trap you, they try to convince you their stuff is the best.I had to keep my cool until my money was refunded. I know now I must never buy anything from them.

I bought my furniture from a different store, they are the best, they never question or convince you to buy something if you are not interested!

Some able bodied men came together to kill the snake that was the cause of many deaths. It was the most venomous snake in the city. People came from far and wide to watch these brave men. There was a problem, no one knew where to find this hideous serpent.

Little Bobby was playing at the back of their lawn, suddenly he heard, “hello  Billy can you save me from these vicious men they are looking for me and are determined to put an end to my life. I promise I didn’t kill anyone?”

Bill looked on the right, then on the left, he walked few feet on the side, he didn’t see a thing, he was so frightened by the voice, he ran home went to his room and started shivering, his aunt Millie and uncle Brad tried to calm him but were unable to do so.

Meanwhile a  freak in the nearby house picked up his xylophone and began to play it, “this is not the time for music young Harry bellowed, if you want to track down the snake you should play the snake charmer’ flute.”

The  freak was angry,he yelled out “just who do you think you are to stop me I’ll play my instrument as long as I want who gave you  the authority to shout at me?”

Harry was equally upset, in an earth shattering voice he said, “I’ll zap you if you aren’t quiet this second!”

The last time I checked the men were still looking for the serpent, Oh My God is all I can say!

DP Daily Prompts: Can’t Watch This

When was the last time you watched something so scary, cringe-worthy, or unbelievably tacky– in a movie, on TV, or in real life—you had to cover your eyes?

I had this experience a while ago, my brother-in-law forgot about their marriage anniversary, his wife was livid, at one point I thought she’d throw something at him, she didn’t care I was watching this horrendous side of her. To calm her down he instantly made plans to take her out to watch a movie. I wanted to excuse myself but they insisted I’ll have to go.

He picked a random movie, he wanted to appease his wife, this was his main goal. I was in Dhaka, we went to watch a Bengali movie with an unknown cast, I had never heard of them, apparently the actors were from Bangladesh.

I could tolerate it if the actors were at least good looking, the main characters were the most hideous looking humans I’ve ever seen on silver screen, to make matters worse their acting was so bad I was having a tough time sitting and watching, I could not move, my new relatives wouldn’t appreciate it.

I had to sit and watch for three hours, the most ridiculous movie, I’ve ever known.

DP Daily Prompt: Frame of Mind

If you could paint your current mood onto a canvass, what would that painting look like? What would it depict?

My current mood  what I’ll call is “Fuzzy”, on a canvass right now the painting will not please anyone’s eyes, if it was for sale,  the would be customers are more than likely going to  stay away and view other paintings.

My mood is all over the place, I turned on the computer, barely five minutes passed and there was a skeleton in front of me,informing me the internet connection has checked out.

What will I do I was thinking then it occurred to me my daughter’s instruction was to go upstairs in her room, disconnect the modem and count fifteen times the word “Mississippi”, I went up sat on her bed did as I was told.

Now I am in my room,I turned on the computer, right now it’s working, how long I can’t tell. Do I want to see that skeleton, you can bet I don’t, do I have a choice, obviously no?

I am writing and thinking am I lucky enough to get this done, it depends if the stars are aligned as they should?

The painting is not going to be worthy enough to be displayed in an exhibition, it will show a sad,unhappy,irritable person on the canvass, when these things are assimilated into one it’ll look absolutely hideous!

DP Daily Prompt: Never Again Post by Ranu

This is an interesting prompt. I remember I made up my mind never to visit my brother-in -law’s place. He and his wife were mean. I hated every moment I stayed there.

When we came back.I told my husband,I will not go to Chicago,if he plans to stay with his brother and his hideous wife. My husband loved the city. He knew if he didn’t listen to me.I will  stay home.

I did go to Chicago twice after that incident.I stayed with my nephew on one occasion and with a friend the second time.

Some people are born to give a hard time to others. These are jealous useless people,I have no time for them.
