Five sentence fiction: Waves

Lillie McFerrin Writes

“Did you ever see such high waves”, Nadia said out loud, she  was visiting Malta with her parents, the waves fascinated her and they were so noisy, she couldn’t go too close to the shore, she was afraid she’d be drenched by the water the waves were spraying out.

Mom and Dad were having a great time watching the noisy Mediterranean sea  waves and soaking up the gorgeous sun, it was a perfect day to have outdoor picnic.

Mom made arrangement with the hotel chef to prepare a delicious basket of food, the chef’s assistant brought the food basket, Nadia couldn’t wait she dragged her parents to a spot which she had planned ahead of time.

The three spread the sheet they borrowed from the hotel and sat down, while Nadia was busy checking the food, she overheard her father say,”Hi Harry fancy seeing you here, come join us for lunch!”

Nadia was disgusted, she mumbled not him again he is such a show off, the thought that Harry would engage her parents into a conversation enraged her, she wasn’t hungry anymore, she took out a book and began to read, some picnic she said under her breath!

Daily Prompt: The Happy Wanderer

pad2015-s1.png (308×60)

What’s your travel style? Are you an itinerary and schedule driven, needing to have every step mapped out in advance or are you content to arrive without a plan and let happenstance be your guide?

I travel to the places I know and I do depend on an itinerary and schedule, I fly by air and I have to book early, have a schedule and an  itinerary to keep track of when I am supposed to  depart and arrive.

I either book a  hotel  room where I’d stay for the week or let my friend know when I’d be arriving so they can meet us at the airport.

…………………………….. 🙂

365 Writing Prompt: Stranded

You are stranded in a foreign city for a day with no money and no friends, where do you go; what do you do?

If I am stranded in an unknown place with no money, friends, or a place to stay. I will go to a school, find the office of the principal. I will ask to see him/her.

Next I will tell him how I landed in this unknown place without any money or friends. I’d tell him my name, where I am from and will ask him if he’d lend me some money and book a room in a fairly decent hotel.

Again I am hoping the principal is a  respectable man, he’d help me. If I’m successful, I’d make arrangements with the hotel manager to  let me know the name of the company which  offers touring the city at a reasonable rate.

After the day is over, I’d thank all the people who helped me when I was stranded, especially the principal.

When I’m back at home, I’d send a thank you card to all the people who helped me. I’d also send a cheque to the principal to repay the money I borrowed from him.

DP Daily Prompt: Road Tripping

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

‘Tis the season for road trips– if time and money were out of the equation, what car -based adventure would you go on?( if you don’t or can’t drive, any land based journey counts.

I’d love to take a road trip to Montreal, I know from St.John’s to Port aux Basques will take at least ten hours by car, we’d have to get a ferry from there to North Sydney, Nova Scotia. From North Sydney we’d drive to New Brunswick, we have to stop overnight in a motel. Early morning after breakfast we’d drive as far as Quebec City. We will stay overnight in a hotel or motel near the highway. From Quebec City we’d take the highway to the city of Montreal. We’d stay in the same apartment we stayed the last two years.
