365 Writing Prompts: Fandom

Are you a sports fan?Tell us about fandom. If  you’re not ,tell us why not?

You can consider me a sports fan. My number one sports is tennis, I like watching hockey once in a while if it’s a Canadian team playing an European team such as world hockey.

I loved watching the Boston Bruins ice hockey team. I don’t get to see too many of their games, their playing schedule is not convenient for me. Most of their games start at 8 PM eastern which is 9:30 PM where I live. I can only watch one period and then it’s bedtime for me. If I go to bed after one period, the thought lingers in my mind, I wonder who is winning which keeps me awake. This is why I’d rather find out in the scores in the  morning.

However tennis matches are televised during the day, which gives me a chance to watch them. I am a big fan of tennis and among males my favorite is Roger Federer and female Maria Sharapova from Russia and also Garbine Muguruza from Spain. These players are very interesting to watch and they are also very good players. When there is a match on TV when either of them is playing, I sit in front of TV and watch until it’s over.

I watched some live tennis matches in Montreal, it is a lot of fun watching with the spectators.

Another sport I am fond of is figure skating. I watch mainly on TV, I still enjoy it. I know it would be lot more fun watching it live, but it’s not possible. 🙂

Daily Prompt: 180 Degrees

pad2015-s1.png (308×60)

Tell us about a time you did a 180 degrees —changed your views on something , reversed a decision, or acted in a way you ordinarily don’t .

I was watching a ice hockey game. My favorite team was not playing so well in that particular year. Rather than stick to my decision of going for my favorite I changed and rooted for the team I never liked.

I changed my mind because my favorites were playing a lousy game, what was worse they started to fight, which lengthened the game.

I disliked their tactics so I changed and went for the team, who were never my favorite .

WP Writing Challenge: Ice,Water,Steam

For this week’s writing challenge, take on the theme of H 20 .What does it mean to be the same thing, in different forms.

Ice,Water and steam:what it means to be the same thing in different forms.

I’ll start with “Ice” : It is useful in many ways, it helps to cool our drink on a hot day.It is a way to preserve food and keep them from spoiling, it also plays a part in some health adages such as chewing ice suggests you have some kind of nutritional deficiency which may be true.

Ice is also essential in hockey,i.e ice  hockey , during the winter there are numerous ice rinks where sports enthusiasts either practice their skating skills to get them fit for important games, or just skate for pleasure.

Ice skating is another sport where the skater learns to do jumps, double triple or quadruple to do well in competitions.

The second form according to my list is,”Water” : It is one of the most natural resources for all kinds of living things, it determines where people can live and also their quality of life.Despite the fact there is plenty of water on Earth, it is not always available when and where it’s needed. One must consider water as a finite resource which has limits and boundaries to its availability and suitability for use.

The next form is steam: Since fuel is consumed to heat water that becomes steam, the gas is valuable, it can be used for a variety of purposes.

Steaming is a great way to prepare vegetables, it is healthy because we do not need oil or any kind of fat to cook it. Unlike other cooking methods gentle heat helps vegetables keep more of their nutrients and flavor.

Are you a sports fan? Tell us about fandom. If  you’re not, tell us why not.

I like specific sports like tennis, ice hockey, baseball. I don’t spend time watching any other sports besides the one I mentioned.

I watch ice hockey when my favorite team the Boston Bruins are playing, it’s too bad they were unable to participate in the Stanley cup finals, I still like them.

I watch baseball when my favorite team the “Blue Jays” are playing, sometimes I watch the world series not regularly.

I love watching tennis, recently in “Wimbledon final” my favorite player Roger Federer was unable to win the trophy but he played well, Joker was lucky Roger made mistakes he usually doesn’t.

I watched the women’s final Our favorite Eugenie Bouchard lost to Petra Kvitova, Petra was unbelievable, once again my favorite came home with a runner up trophy. It’s okay I’m hoping my two favorite players will bring home the championship trophy in the US open grand slam tennis championship in September this year!

Geneva(Switzerland)

I will give a brief introduction, why I chose to write about Geneva. Our International Airlines ‘Air Canada,’ was holding a competition. We were required to write about a place,we were interested to visit. The deadline has passed,I’m eager to write, not for any reason, but I was told,it is a beautiful city to visit. Whether I will or not is immaterial.I’d like to check it out and therefore some research is necessary.
