365 Writing Prompts: Bookworms

Grab the nearest book. Open it and go to the tenth word. Do a Google Image Search of the word. Write about what the Image brings to mind.

The tenth word is: FIRST

Google Image: A circle divided into ten parts, first part is shaded, the color is green.

The image green brings to mind a lot of things such as a green garden, green with envy, green grass, green apple, green bananas and so on.

Color is extremely important,it helps us to relate through sensation, we react towards a specific color. When someone is jealous we say he/she is,’green with envy,’ we don’t always associate green with envy, there are a lot of  green things that are soothing, such as green grass, the grass reminds us that nature is coming alive, when we see green apple we feel the sensation of something sour, whereas green banana tells us it’s not ripe yet, but then again some green bananas, called plantains can be cooked we don’t need yellow plantains.

When we think about traffic lights, green tells us to go,yellow means caution and red tells us to stop. These signs are necessary it gives us the kind of freedom we need in a world full of vehicles and people, it teaches us the need for safety by using different colors of lights.

Color shows celebration of life in a variety of ways, in some parts of the world people paint their faces using different colors. Statues and monuments are built and painted in vibrant colors. They are done that way to attract tourists who visit these places and help to improve the economy of that place.

History tells us colorful tales through archaeological sites, architecture, art and literature. The story of “Taj Mahal” in India is famous which tells us it was built in memory of Mumtaz Mahal , Emperor Shah Jahan’s wife.

DP Daily Prompt: Isn’t Your Face Red

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

It was a couple of years ago,I just started the online course. I noticed at the bottom of my comment, the image of garbage cans. I was unaware what it meant. I can be very impulsive. I didn’t give it a second thought. I got in touch with the person and complained. When my daughter came in I complained to her as well, you should have seen her facial expression it was nothing less than,”Priceless”.

My daughter explained what it meant. I was so embarrassed, I didn’t know how to apologize. I did several times. I even apologize now, whenever I think of how stupid I was. Technology is so far ahead of me,Sometimes I’m afraid to do or say anything.

Today from the heart of Bangladesh,

when did you appear in such an exceptional way,

O Mother!

O mother I stare at you,

I cannot turn my eyes off of you.

O mother your doors  are unlocked today,

in the gold temple!

Your right hand carries

the blazing sword,

the left removes fear and apprehension.

Your eyes reveal affection,

while your forehead conveys ,

fierce resolve.

O mother what an image,

I behold today!

Today the doors of your

gold temple are unlocked.

O mother,O dear mother.

Your untied hair conceals thunder,

the edge of your garment glitters

in the sun.

O, mother I cannot turn ,

my eyes away from you!

Your doors are opened ,

in the gold temple.

When I neglected to look at you,

I thought my sad mother ,

is alone in the desolate house,

there is no end to her misfortune.

Where is your wretched attire,

Where is that sad smile?

Today the sky is adorned with

the lustre of your feet.

On this night of misery,

flood the world with the flow  of happiness,

your courage resonates the heart!

O mother my heart cannot have enough of you,

the doors of gold temple are unlocked.

O Mother!
