The word I dislike is “Gossip”. I wish it was never entered in the dictionary. Whenever someone is about to go this path,I think there should be a huge ‘Red Flag ‘ waved instantly,or they have a cough attack.

Many innocent people are the target of this word.I don’t think it’s fair. It is always used in politics, let’s face it if one is not good enough to compete with his/her opponents why drag down the family or relatives.

I always watch the senate race  Ads,one party trying to drag down the other to get votes from the public. They can try to show their positive side and let the public decide who is better. Will it ever happen,I doubt very much.We are humans after all , being fair is not one of our trait!

Oh the childhood is the best years of my life! I can remember my Mom’s cooking it was unimaginable. It was a special day for us,we were celebrating,”Eid ul Fitr” it was when Ramadhan ended and we wore new clothes and were waiting to eat. My Mom was cooking,Pilaf,Kebabs,Beef curry, Lamb chop and of course the cucumber salad. The scent of her cooking was in the air.It seemed the needles of our miniature,”Big Ben” stopped in its tracks. If it was up to us we would change the time,so we could start eating. We behaved like a bunch of kids from a famine stricken land, back and forth we ran to check the clock which was not moving like we wanted it to.

Finally,it was noon and our servant started setting the table. At that point I’m not sure we cared how he arranged the plates. We were ready to eat,my Mom just had to say the word,we were all there in a flash to eat the delicious cooking of my Mom’s food. Those were the days,we were innocent, lively and enjoyed eating and playing.

I wish the clock would go back and let us once again experience the joy we felt when we were young.

The Poet’s age by Tagore

Evening is almost here ,oh my dear poet,

I can see white streaks in your  hair___

you are sitting and looking up in the sky

makes me wonder, are you hearing the call from the next world?

I know it’s evening, said the poet,

my exhausted body still desires to know

if perchance from the other village

someone needs my help.

If there under the fragrant trees

some young man and young woman fall in love

they might need some help

perhaps would like some enchanting music_

who is going to read their mind,

and play the music in his flute,

if I sit on this earth ,

and count my days left to go to the other world.

The evening star rose and set,

the funeral pyre is about to extinguish along the river,

the yellow moon from lord Krishna

is  showing itself from one side of the forest,

the foxes are making loud noise

from the courtyard of the burnt house__

at this time if some homeless man

comes here to spend the night,

with folded hands he looks up

and sees a saint,

slowly his heart will ache

who will awaken his mind with the secret words of the universe

if I free myself and make plans,

In a corner of my house?

Yes I have streaks of white hair,

why does it matter?

Know  that I am as old as the men and boys of the neighbourhood.

Some have innocent smiling faces, others look crooked,

tears come down from some of their eyes

others have  tears  dried in their mind

some spend  time in the corner of the house

others are showing off in fancy chariots

some die alone while grieving

others lose their way in a crowd__

I am getting a call from everyone,

I don’t have time to hear the call from the next world.

I am just as old as the others

even if my hair is turning white.

O ,Mother Of Bengal let your sons experience good and bad deeds, sorrow and joy,ups and downs in life.

Let your sons be human

O most affectionate mother land__in your land of millions

Don’t keep them as innocent children any more.

Let them explore all the countries whichever is the place

make them independently find that abode.

Every step of the way you are protecting them from making small mistakes

do not restrict them and hold on to them as obedient sons.

by giving their life ,enduring pain and suffering, alone

let them distinguish between good and evil.

Take your pious, weak and peaceful sons

let them be homeless, daring and reckless.

O, my admirable mother you have kept your seven million sons,

as Bengalis_____you have failed to raise them as human beings.
