DP Daily Prompts: Sweeping Motions

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

What’s messier right now — your bedroom or your computer’s desktop(or your favorite devices home screen)? Tell us how and why it got to that state.

My laptop is placed on a table, it has hardly enough space to put my laptop and the mouse, of course there is the telephone too. If I try to move any of them it’ll be disastrous, so they are enjoying the space and nothing else has room to sit there.

I do not have too many devices, the ones that are there are skilfully put in the drawers, our large TV occupies more space than anything else, there is hardly enough room to be messy, however when our felines get overly anxious to catch the ball bounced on TV by tennis players they’re careful enough and therefore they do not fall off.

The place in my house which is the messiest is the basement, we tend to put our discarded things there, hoping to get rid of them as soon as possible, it hasn’t happened yet, but more and more junk is piling up with the same intention of clearing it when we’re free, when we are free our mind is not, so the junk remains. It’s not a good excuse I know, it can’t be helped!

365 Writing Prompts: Cleaning house

Is there “junk” in your life? How do you get rid of it?

When I look at the stuff we collected over the years I wonder, how will I get rid of it. It is not easy, but it has to be done. I have taken care of some, but there is much more left that needs to leave the cozy comfort of my house to somewhere which might be appreciated.

I had a burgundy velvet sofa set, I liked it a lot but thought it was in my house long enough, it was time for it to find a new home.I called the city, paid for the service and had it out in my lawn, the passers by, questioned whether I was really throwing it out, one motorist said, “Why it’s in such a good shape?”

I ignored what he had to say, left it out in  the yard, one guy in a pick up truck showed up thirty minutes later, loaded his truck and drove away.

This is how the furniture was taken care of, there are other things that I need to say good-bye to, with the weather getting cooler the frequent rainfall keeps me from putting it out on the curb, the question in my mind is, what if no one picks it up the thought of dragging it all back in is not an option,so I’d have to wait for a better season to clean my house.

There are all kinds of “Junk” in my life. How do I get rid of it,depends on what it is.

There is junk mail,it is easy to get rid of it.I dump it in the recycle bin. Then I have junk memories,I cannot get rid of it. It shows its unwanted face whenever I try not to think of it.

Junk food is something hardly anyone can get rid of. It looks delicious,it tastes awesome, one can get it instantly, by taking a trip to “McDONALDS”. There are so many fast food places,I  fall victim to one or the other.I cannot completely give up junk food, although in my defense I’ll say I eat it once in a while.

The household junk is the biggest problem in my life.  I have accumulated so much in all these years. I do not use them, yet I feel a certain affinity for them,I cannot throw them away.In August I booked an appointment with the city. I was able to convince me, they no longer are useful,I chucked them. There are many more,e.g Encyclopedias, medical books and a whole bunch of other books. I know I can tear them and place them in the recycle bin,but my heart does not agree.

What can I do,it’s a precarious situation.I wish I’d  get assistance from somewhere!
