Blogging 201, Day Seven

Day  Seven: Make the most of Events

Today’s assignment: Create a recurring blogging event on your site, and/or make plans to attend a blogging conference.

Blogging Event: In Other Words

In this weekly event draw inspiration from a well-known quote.

Recurring weekly Wednesday-

Today is Tuesday, but I will write a post today on quotes and another one tomorrow to follow the recurring  weekly   Wednesday.

The famous quote I picked today is : Let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow-

A.P.J Abdul Kalam

Sacrifice is the key word in this quote. Our children need our support mentally, physically and financially. This is the reason we should sacrifice our pleasure by earning and saving for our children to enable them to have a better tomorrow.

Besides financial, mental and physical support is necessary too. Little minds at times can be confused by viewing the world by themselves. We can help by explaining things they fail to understand.

They need physical support in infancy, parents’  assistance enables them to grow up as confident human beings.

DP Daily Prompt: Never Too Late

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

Is there a person you should’ve thanked, but never had the chance? Is there someone who helped you along the way without even realizing it? Here’s your chance to express your belated gratitude.

There is a person who has helped me more than once, I did not have a chance to thank him. He is the Vice -Principal of the school where I taught.

I was living in Gander at the time, he came to our house one day when my husband was admitted in a hospital in St. John’s, he told me any time I needed help I must call him, he also said anytime I was not prepared to teach because of my husband’s ill health to call him and request him to get a substitute for that day or days.

In reply I said, ‘ but what if I’m not sick, how can I call you and  say to get a substitute for my class?’

He smiled and said, ‘Chaman, mentally you will not be able to carry on your job,if there is a sickness in the family.’

That day I was so relieved he understood  my problem. I was in a very stressful situation and was unable to thank him.

So this is from me i.e, Chaman, Mr. Melendy , thank you so much for your kind visit to my house, I’ll always remember your thoughtfulness!

365 days Writing Prompt: The normal

Is being “normal”—whatever that means to you —- a good thing or a bad thing? Neither

To me normal means one is physically and mentally sound. I think if a person is normal it is an excellent thing. Think about the two brothers who bombed in the Boston Marathon, killing innocent people , they were not in the right frame of mind, had they been normal they would not have committed such a horrible crime.

When I think about normal the battle of Hydaspes River fought between Alexander and king Porus comes to mind. This battle was won by Alexander and King Porus was taken prisoner. Alexander asked Porus how he wished to be treated . “Treat me O Alexander , like a King” Porus responded. Alexander despite his victory asked the king how he should be treated, it shows Alexander was in his normal frame of mind or else he would have ordered him killed. Porus showed he was normal when he gave the appropriate reply.

I like it when everything is normal, the weather, peoples behavior, when I say normal weather,I mean we don’t have snow in July, snow in December is completely normal.

I visited a store once to look at some of the jewelry on display, I looked at some of them, when I wanted to know what else he had, he turned his back and walked away, this attitude clearly showed his behavior towards the customer was not normal, Would I go back to the store again, absolutely not. This is one of the examples of an abnormal behavior.

Being normal I think is a good thing !
