DP Daily Prompt: One at a Time

Today write a post about the topic of your choice— using only one syllable words.

Wait nice girl , I can give you one wish , what do you want?  I told June.

Can you give me a pen? she asked, I need it to write on my hand.

But why I said, your hand will not look clean.

June said: I do not have cash to buy a book, can you give me some? One day I will pay you back.

I gave her some coins to buy a book.

June bought the book, came back to show me.

How nice I said, now you can write in your book.

From that day on  June and I were best friends!

I just realized how difficult it is to use only one   syllable words.

DP Daily Prompts: Not Lemonade

When life gives you lemons— make something else. Tell us about a time you used an object or resolved a tricky situation in an unorthodox way.

I think it’s a good idea, if life gives you lemons do something else. At one time in my life all I used to get was lemons, no matter how hard I tried, I was never appreciated. The only recourse left for me was to erase the word nice from my vocabulary.

At first I wasn’t comfortable changing my personality.

My eldest brother’s wife always complained to my brother about me, my brother of course took her side and never wanted to hear my side of the story. This happened too frequently for my liking, I decided never to visit him, to relieve me from the stress.

One evening he came for a visit and invited me to go to his house, he said his wife had cooked large prawns he’d like me to go for dinner, I refused and told him, he should  eat his prawns himself I wasn’t interested. Normally I would never say that, but I thought I was doing the right thing because he stopped being nice to me.

365 Writing Prompts: Flip flop

Think of a topic or issue about which you switched your opinion. Why the change?

I used to think the two felines we got are nice and sweet. I’m beginning to feel they are not that nice or sweet. Yesterday they managed to scatter my books all over the place.

When we first got them they were very obedient , if I said no, they’d listen to me, now they give me a wide-eyed glance and question my authority, they stop for few seconds and continue to be evil i.e  they knock everything on the floor and dance around.

They ate anything we dished out now they sniff and leave. They hate dry food it used to  be their favorite, if we mix it with moist food they’d eat the moist and leave the dry in the bowl.

Why do I think they are not sweet, they’ve developed a don’t care attitude, which I detest. If they get up on the piano and try to knock the light down, I spray them with water, they continue to be evil,the water does not work any more. I think I’m right to think they are not sweet or nice anymore!

DP Daily Prompt: Can’t Stand Me

What do you find more unbearable, watching a video of yourself, or listening to a recording of your voice? Why?

Before I decide which one is undesirable my voice, or a video of myself? I will pick   my voice not the video, how did I figure it out,here is how?

When I was a student in London’s Institute Of Education, each one of us were given a piece of writing to read and record. We were instructed to go to the room where there was a recorder and a piece of writing , we were to go one at a time and read and record what was on that piece of paper, none of us saw it before, when my turn came I walked over to the room closed the door behind me and read the piece.

When we all had our turn, our Prof. Mr. Baird brought the recorder and played it for all of us to listen to our voice. When mine was finished, he said, “A fine piece of reading”, this made me think my voice is worth listening to.

As regards the video, my husband once took out his video camera and told us to walk while he took the video, there were a large number of us all family members, we had no idea how we should  walk, it ended up to be a disaster, none of us looked good, so video of myself was not what anyone will call nice.
