365 Writing Posts: Five Items

A classic question, revisited, what are the five items you must have on a deserted island?

Five items I consider most important to me are:

1. Food

2. Camera

3.Pencil

4. paper

5. blanket

Food: well any living thing needs food,I am no exception , my food is a bit more complicated than the plants and animals.

Animals will eat anything that moves, not true in our case.

Plants: I’m so thankful for them, they provide us shade in the form of trees, there are trees that produce fruits, vegetables. Without trees our land will turn into deserts.

Why will I need a camera, I think  there will be so many varieties of living things, I’d like to capture them in my little equipment.

I did not include pen, it has a shorter life than a  pencil, I opted to carry a pencil and of course paper to write on . I want to make my unwanted stay fascinating, good or bad it will help me write about my experience.

I wished  to include something else in my list of five items, but a voice in me said, “take a blanket, it will keep you warm, in case it’s freezing on the island!”

Above is a list of items I think I’ll need. I’ve given the reason why they’re more important than anything else.

DP Daily Prompt: Quirk of Habit

I know someone who had a strange habit. His kids used to make a hole in the butter,when they took some for their toasts.. He’d be annoyed for a few minutes. He’d then take a knife, to smooth the hole. It took him a couple of minutes  to make it smooth,and while doing it he would mumble. “I don’t know why these kids don’t know  how to take out butter to spread on their toast?”

To me this is a quirky habit.

I have several quirky habits,I brush my teeth after every meal. I always feel something is stuck in my teeth. I clip my finger nails short. I cannot bear to have them long.

I dislike writing with a pencil. I think my writing is not clear. I  hear a hissing sound when I write with a pencil.

I’ve watched some people taking out a mirror to see if their hair looks right . They’d  go to the powder room to look at their outfit. They don’t seem to think it’s okay, or oh I have to powder my nose.
