Daily Prompt: Practice makes Perfect

Tell us about a talent you’d love to have ….. but don’t.

I’d like to be an expert in sewing. I have the right tools,e.g  my sewing machine , spools of thread, fabrics of all varieties, needles, you name it I’ve got it. I even have time and lots of it. What’s keeping me from becoming a seamstress is the lack of a room to get started.

I have plenty of space in my house but is occupied by my kid who hasn’t find time yet to clean up one of those rooms, that she can easily clean and let me set up my paraphernalia of sewing tools.

Life is tough you want to earnestly do something, but there is always one thing that gets in the way of my creativity. I sit and wait and hope one day it will all come together and I’ll be on my way to happy sewing. Till that day comes I will imagine all the cool stuff that I will make and have people come around and see my masterpieces and be in complete awe of my heavenly creation. Sounds something like the milkmaid story, “building castles in the air” doesn’t it? 😦

DP Daily Prompt: Writing Space

Where do you produce your best writing–at your desk,on your phone, at a noisy cafe’? Tell us how the environment affects your creativity.

I do all of my writing in my bedroom, I have a small table, it is spacious enough to place my laptop and my telephone. I have all my books, papers pen and everything I need on my dresser, desk and filing cabinet. I feel comfortable I have all my things within reach.

For me my bedroom provides perfect environment, the TV is there for me if I want to take a break, I watch it for a few minutes and get back to work.

365 days Writing Prompt: Person of the year

You’re asked to nominate someone for Time’s Person of the year. Who would it be and why?

There are only a handful of people I know, I thought about them individually, there is one that shows up in my mind, above others,  according to me he has all the qualities to be nominated, “Time’s Person Of The Year.”

The following are the attributes of this person: he is kind, helpful, brilliant and has written a few amazing books.

His books are used in school syllabus for students.

He is quiet and humble, to me these are  perfect qualities to be nominated, ‘Time’s Man Of The Year.’

DP Daily Prompt: Practice Makes Perfect Post by Ranu

I’d love to be able to skate.I know it requires talent. I won’t be able to tell whether I have talent for skating. I was born in a temperate climate, that fact in itself gives me a large X,next when I came to a place where the temperatures dip down to minus 20,learning to skate would be a futile effort on my part. It is too cold .I am not used to it. It will be STRIKE 2.  Then somehow  if I get acclimatized, the age when youngsters learn to skate,I unfortunately passed it which is STRIKE 3   ,in  Baseball if it is strike 3 it means ,pack up your bag and leave. I  am happy to just watch Yamaguchi,Kwan,Ekaterina Gordieva and others and dream I will be reborn  one day    in a cold climate, where I’d learn to skate and practice hard to become perfect like the ones I’ve mentioned.

For now I’m happy to watch their double and triple jumps!
