God created our Planet, our world and this earth,

Not just for humans but all the other living things.

If we don’t  take care, it’ll be a sad day for us all,

Plants, trees, birds and animals are doing their part,

Unfortunately as humans we are not interested at heart.

Let us unite together regardless of our faith or color,

So we can live on this universe without hurting each other!

DP Daily Prompt: too Big To Fail

Tell us about something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail( and tell us why you haven’t tried it yet).

I seriously would attempt to write a book of all my experiences I encountered in my life. I haven’t written it yet, I cannot try it without the guaranty I will not fail.

Some of my well-wishers want me to write about my experience as a teacher, there are some interesting anecdotes I’d be able to share.

It might bring out a smile for some who probably experienced it as well.

The schools I have attended , the things I liked and others I did not, it’s the way life is you do not like everything that happens to you.

My interaction with children, who I thought are the sweetest and most innocent human beings on the planet. I’m willing to bet if they were at the helm of our beloved planet, they would make it the best place on earth.

When they love they are sincere, they do not know how to pretend, some are influenced by adults who unknowingly say or do things just to impress the adults they come into contact with.

When I was six  there were two sisters who were our  neighbors their religion was different from  mine . To impress their older cousin they pointed out to her in a very awkward way this is what one of them said in Bengali: “Ora na mucholman”( they are Muslims). her way of saying showed she does not like  us. How do I know because the proper word in Bengali is, Musalman, not Mucholman, this was her way to scoff at us. Neither she nor I understood at that age why she did that.

Sometimes certain events are  deep-rooted  in our mind this was one of them. We adults do great harm to children by teaching them to discriminate.

I need reassurance that I will not fail, this is the only reason I have not tried to write a book!

365 Writing Prompts: Interplanet Janet

You get to design your own planet: tell us all about your planet– the weather,the seasons,the inhabitants. Go.

My planet will be a place where poverty is non-existent. Families will have homes according to their needs, a small family of four members will have a home for four people, i.e, three bedrooms , a moderate size kitchen, two full bathrooms, one for the parents and one for the kids, there will be a powder room with a sink and a toilet for guests.

The kitchen will be equipped with all the necessary appliances, such as a stove, refrigerator, toaster oven  microwave oven and a dishwasher. There will be a double sink in the kitchen, one part for washing and the other for drying. we don’t need a dishwasher every day, a few dishes used can be hand washed and put away.

Larger families will have larger homes.

The citizens will be free to practice their religion without any interference. Education will be free, the farmers will produce and consume their food and sell them in the market, they will own their land, there will be no landlords.

There will be entertainment centers and centers for physical exercise,to make sure everyone is happy and healthy.

There will be public transportation for all to use, the citizens will be encouraged to use private cars only when it is absolutely necessary to prevent pollution.

There will be government subsidized health clinics for all the people on my planet.

The climate  will be temperate,not too hot nor too cold. There will be two seasons, winter and summer. In the winter the citizens will need a light coat or a slightly warmer sweater or cardigan. The summer will be tolerable,not too hot.

The inhabitants will be encouraged to get education according to their potential, there will be regular tests conducted by educators who will decide what kind of education a certain individual needs in order to be useful for he/ she to be a productive citizen.

Armies will not be required to defend the planet, the citizens will be trustworthy and will  stay away from any kind of quarrel on a small or large scale.

There will be one meeting a month to find out if there is anyone unhappy about anything, if necessary help will be given to them instantly.

I hope all the people on my planet will always be healthy and happy and will help each other.

365 Writing prompts: Necessity is the mother of invention

Imagine, in great detail, an invention that could help reverse pollution– describe for us how your invention works and how it will help save the planet.

I spent a fair amount of time thinking what I could invent to reverse pollution. This is the simplest thing I am able to think of.

I would construct a cardboard box, in it  I will have the names of all the pollutants existing on our planet, beside each name I’ll sew a bell, and blow some magic words on each filthy thing that pollutes our environment, inside the  box there will be a device which can detect anything filthy released in the air, the name will flash, there will be someone monitoring this device 24/7 , as soon as the bell rings the person in charge will locate the name of the pollutant and will press a bell on the side this will reverse the pollution.

365 Writing Prompts: Celebrate good times

You received some wonderful,improbable,hoped- for good news. How do you celebrate?

Lately I cannot recall any news that is good, improbable,hoped for so there is very little to celebrate.

I usually celebrate good news by inviting a few of my friends to supper, I cook their favorite dish, we spend the evening discussing everything from world news to global warming. We come up with certain things that can slow down the process , then again I’m not sure if the damage done is irreversible.

In Canada I found out the province of Ontario was pushing the slogan,”Reduce,Reuse,Recycle,”  many years ago our province has only started this only a short while.

Given the fact global warming is a major concern, I am not sure, if the citizens of the world are trying to see what they can do to help.

We’d discuss all this and when all is said and done with, we settle in our homes and try to forget what is happening to the planet of ours.

DP Daily Prompt: I Believe!

Three things I believe : number one is, I am a guest of this planet , while I’m here I must do everything to help mankind. How much have I done is hard to know, this much is true everyday I’m alive I must do something good even if I talk nice to my neighbor,say thank you to the mailman who delivers my mail walking miles and miles of rough weather,slippery streets, strong winds and heavy down pour. I want him /her, to know I appreciate his daily hard work.

Number two on my list is the cashier at the Supermarket. I watched the girl scanning the items and I had quite a few, I told her I know she must be tired, in reply she said,”my back is killing me.” I felt bad and wished her a nice day. I believe it is true when I say a nice word the person on the other side feels good to know someone out there sympathizes with her.

There are a lot more things that are true, since I have one more, the last one on my list is; I agree with the American who said, “You are here only for a short while, so stop and smell the roses.”

Things that I believe are false is number one: when the politician tells us he’d scratch GST.

The second thing that I believe is false is when the tailor assures me my clothes would be stitched in five days. He knows he won’t and I hope it will be done. Guess what ,he lied.

The last one is when my brother tells me he’d write a long email. I know he won’t keep his promise!!

DP Daily Prompt: Interplanet Janet

The weather in my planet will be temperate. It will not have excessive hot or cold climate. It will have some precipitation in the form of rain.  Each month there will be a week of rain. This is necessary for plants, animals and for us too. We will have mild summers and winters.  It will be pleasant in summer. During the cold season the temperature will not go under forty degrees Fahrenheit. A light coat will be sufficient to stay warm.  Spring and Autumn will be colorful .

The inhabitants will work to keep the planet clean and tidy. Each family will have one mode of transportation they will either have a car,bicycle,or motor cycle. There’ll be public transportation for those who prefer . The number of vehicles used on the road will be limited. This will eliminate pollution.

Education will be compulsory and free. Incentives will be given to hardworking students,this will be in the form of cash or something they need. The size of the classroom will not exceed twenty students. Books ,exercise books,pen and pencils will be provided for everyone.

Teachers will help students with their work after school whenever there is need.

The administrators of City Hall will meet once and discuss about the services provided to make sure there is no problem.

My planet will be a happy planet. Steps will be taken to keep everyone happy.
