What’s the most important( or interesting, or unexpected) thing about blogging you know today that you didn’t know a month ago.

I started blogging over two years ago. I had no idea what it was or what the word meant, fortunately a participant from my online course started blogging. I read his post and thought how remarkable, one can actually write posts on different subjects and people take time to read it and write their comments. This is awesome I whispered to myself. Then it occurred to me can I write something too,and will other bloggers read my post?

I asked my online course facilitator if I also could  start blogging like Robert? He said,”yes you should.”

I asked my daughter she signed me up with WordPress, according to her it is the best one. I started blogging in June 2012.

What I learned is unbelievable, writing posts, poetry or prose anything goes. Then there are prompts supplied by WordPress daily, which is awesome, it requires a little bit of thinking, once I got used to it, I wrote as much as my brain would co-operate, sometimes a whole lot,  other times not so much.

I sometimes wonder about my blogger friend Leslie and Sonya, I don’t know how they come up with such great poems, my writing looks pale compared to theirs, I’m contented with what I can do. You know everyone cannot do as well as Wordsworth, Shakespeare or William Henry Davies, I certainly am not in their league, I enjoy it, thinking I must be thankful for what I can do.

The above is my story of blogging, my thanks to Robert for showing me the way, to Leslie who is always encouraging me.I’m grateful to my friends, who read my posts regardless of how good or bad they are, only because Ranu wrote it and we must continue to follow her blog,is I think what motivates them!

365 Writing Prompts: Pat on the back

Tell someone you’re proud of, how proud you are.

It is difficult to describe just how proud I am of you. Your remarkable dedication to your family, your work  and the students you teach is matchless.

You meet deadlines after deadlines with such calmness, makes me think you cannot belong to an ordinary class of human beings.

When God created you He knew why He sent you down among us, He equipped you with tolerance for the people you’ll come into contact with, brilliance, to deal with humans like us who lack the gift you possess to help us understand the complexities of life  that we face from day to day.

I needed to know someone like you to realize there are good people like you who care and that not everyone is unreliable. I am truly thankful to know you!

DP Daily Prompt: Critical Eye Post by Ranu.

I am sorry this prompt does not give me any confidence.A Music Critic? This is just a joke I think.I did not study music.Yes I love music.Taking the role of a critic is not an easy subject.

I can say I love Celine Dionne’s voice, she sings her songs so beautifully.I love her song in the Titanic.

Madonna’s song ,”don’t cry for me Argentina is beautiful. It feels as though she really means every word in that song.To me she is very talented .She has what it takes to make one believe.

Julie Andrew’s song; The hills are alive with the sound of music  was remarkable.

Yesterday while going to the mall I heard someone singing a song .I asked my daughter who she was,it was Pink. Now she has talent, the way she can change her voice according to the lyrics is truly amazing.

I only picked the ones I like. The ones who have no talent and still are doing well,is amazing.I wonder why?

You can tell I have failed as a music critic. But it was fun writing about some of the talented ones.

There are hundreds of Indian singers who are blessed with remarkable voice and are also gifted lyricists. I am not sure if I name them people will recognize them. Just for fun I’ll name one.His name is Mohammed Rafi. He is not alive but he still is very popular. One song I have listened several times in the past few days begins thus:   Dil jo na keh saka wohi Raa-ze dil kehne ki raat ayee, from the Bollywood movie ‘Bheegi Raat’.
