Daily Prompt: FIGHT

pod-2016-sm.png (308×60)

Write a new post in response to the one-word prompt.

There are so many things we as humans fight about, we fight for our right, we fight for a position in a teaching faculty.

The most trying fight I faced with  was when my sibling whom I sponsored to come to this country  tattled against me, she did it to make me unpopular with my mom, with my siblings. One would think these people would at least ask me if I had done these horrible things she claimed I’ve done to her.

I had the occasion to ask my mother, why she blindly believed her(my Sister),and did not bother to ask me. My mother realized how wrong she was, she could not give me an answer, she only looked at me with a guilty face. When parents take sides against their own children it is very sad.

This was one fight I had to win to help me. I kept all this from my husband about the nasty letter my Mom wrote to me.

Sometimes I feel if I hadn’t tried to be nice to my siblings, I’d be much better off today. 😦

Daily Prompt: Menagerie

pad2015-s1.png (308×60)

Do you have animals in your life? If yes, what do they mean to you? If no, why have you opted not to?

Two little kittens we managed to adopt

Both are Himalayan and Siamese breed.

One is Gabriel and his sibling is Raphael

Gabriel is calm but Raphael is not

How did they turn out so  different

Coming from the same lot?

When it comes to eating

Gabriel is finicky

Raphael of course is just the opposite.

They mean a lot to us

They are definitely a part of our lives.

365 Writing Prompts: Happily ever after

“And they lived happily ever after.” Think about this line for a few minutes. Are you living happily ever after? If not, what will it take for you to get there?

Yes I thought about this line as I was writing it. If I had asked my mother when she was alive, what makes a person happy? She’d say happiness is having loving siblings, spouse, and children if you are at that stage. Above all contentment is the key to happiness .

It reminds me of William Shakespeare’s quote: Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown- Henry 1V, part 2.

Since I have no crown i.e subjects to deal with, I’m not uneasy, I have good friends, sincere neighbors, loving daughter and one awesome sibling. These are enough for me to say: I am happy. What more can I want?

Five sentence fiction: Envy

Lillie McFerrin Writes

They were two sisters, Geeta and Seeta, although Geeta was seven years older, she always criticized Seeta.

Seeta was fed up she once complained to her friend Nina  about her sister, Nina paid them a visit at their house, the moment she sat in their house, Geeta had nothing good to say about her sister.

Nina came home and thought about everything she was told by Geeta, she was in a quandary, she’d never heard anyone so critical about the younger sibling, the thought came to her suddenly, maybe she’s jealous of her sister.

Nina was ecstatic she figured out what was wrong, the following day she told her friend, “I know why your sister is mean to you, she is jealous of you.”

Seeta was in shock, “jealous, but why was all she could say?”
