DP Daily Prompts: Unequal Terms

pad2014-s.png (308×60)

Did you know today is Blog action Day? Join bloggers from around the world and write a post about what inequality means to you. Have you encountered it in your daily life?

The dictionary defines “Inequality” as lack of equality between persons or things. There are many others, but I’d like to write a post on inequality between persons.

Back from the stone age to now, the world has undergone a huge change, everything has improved the way we live , our speech, education, inventions, the way we dress.

What didn’t seem to change is our perception of dealing with people, we are holding on to the age old tradition of treating people differently according to where they’re from.

If a certain person is from a developing country they surely lack in education knowledge as compared to those  from developing countries. Who made this distinction, well it’s passed from generation to generation, this is a stark example of inequality.

I happen to be from a part of the world called a  developing country, who coined this word and why, is difficult to decipher, it used to be ‘under developed’ it’s a term not used anymore but is replaced by developing because people have realized it’s not politically correct, how long it will continue to be called  that, is hard to guess, but this much is certain, this term has already divided us, we are not in their league.

This kind of inequality will remain I think because it makes the developed countries superior in comparison.

Have I encountered this in my daily life, yes I have!

The language of the future: What will it be like? Write an experimental post using some imagined vocabulary—abbreviations, slang, new terms.

It would be superb to have a language that everyone feels comfortable speaking and understanding. It would be a beginning of humanity coming together. Too many wars are fought, lives are lost because of disagreements in speech, attires, and looks.

When God created His favorite humans, He wanted them to get along, have a  good life, help each other, so much could be achieved and so little lost, if only we could understand each other.

We are still evolving, we have come to a point where one language is a priority, at first look we might think of it as an arduous task, how can it be, Man has accomplished so many unbelievable assignments which in the past it was difficult to believe, we now have come to a stage when we are trying to sort out why we cannot live peacefully.

One of the barriers is language, if we all used the same words we’d break the blockade that keeps us apart. We’ve already assimilated countless words from other languages and made it our own.

Let me try a sentence from the languages I know: “Aami love vous.” aami–Bengali; love–English; vous–French , translation:Aami=I, love=is love; vous= you.

I’ll write this for now.

DP Daily Prompt: (YAWN) Post by Ranu

I am bored by a lot of things. A long Bollywood movie which has no story, but depends on fighting scene to entertain us, is the worst thing.I do not know who likes it,to me it is a sheer waste of time.

What makes me yawn is when I watch the the Oscars and the winners keep talking. I say to them, you have your trophy, now get lost.

The one that really irritates me is when I go to the shows, where the hot shots talk without stopping. These are the places when I really am stuck.I cannot leave. It looks rude to do so. This is where I pretend to listen, but doze off and wait for the speaker to say his/her last lines.I am so happy I don’t mind applauding, not because of the speech but because it has come to an end!
