Discover Prompt : Day 4, Street

Let me describe my awesome STREET,

Students of all sizes you will meet

We have sidewalk on one side it’s too bad

While our side is grassy and hilly looks so sad

Although it’s short and broken my feline loved it

I would’ve name it Thursday, if I’d get a permit

One thing I know from years of experience

My neighbours would say, ‘Oh What Nonsense.’

Writing 201, Poetry, Day :7

Day: Seven

Today’s theme: Neighborhood

Today’s form: Ballad

Today’s device: Assonance

My street is open and is wide,

My house is in the corner.

But the driveway is  so  narrow,

You’d have to park your car on the side!

It doesn’t bother me at all,

For I have friends on both sides,

They often call me and inquire,

If I need anything from the  mall!

At first I did not like this house,

It was not what I wanted,

My husband convinced me,

It’s the one that God has granted!

Now that I’m living here,

I must admit, my friends are:

Those most encouraging folks,

Whose  love I cannot find elsewhere!

……………………….. 🙂

DP Daily Prompt: Singin’ In The Rain Post By Ranu

Rain days

Rain days (Photo credit: @Doug88888)

Singin’ In The Rain, and a perfect afternoon. I am not sure if there was a perfect afternoon, where I live. The month of June is anything but pleasant. It has been raining almost every day. It’s cold,so much so,I sometimes forget if it is summer or fall. That is beside the point, inside it is toasty warm. I have to turn up the heat instead of the air conditioner. This is the situation here.

I will go back when I was in Comilla. We had a lot of pleasant rainy afternoons. I remember once, my younger siblings and I decided to go out to watch a movie.Mom was at home, busy with housework, four of us quietly went out of the house. We took a rickshaw, and were on our way to the movie hall.I don’t remember what we watched,Mom had no idea where we went. On our way back the street leading to our house was uneven, there were puddles everywhere, the rickshaw driver lost his balance.Four of us fell out on the street and were completely drenched. We came into the house,Mom saw us,she thought we were playing in the rain.We pretended that’s how we were wet. We had fun, loads of fun.We couldn’t tell Mom what we were up to.

We didn’t sing in the rain,we certainly were wet in the rain.
