If I were to choose the best sounds I hear in a day

My choice is hearing  children singing when  they play

Their voice is so sweet

To hear it is a treat

I love hearing children singing  when they play!

365 Writing Prompts: Flip flop

Think of a topic or issue about which you switched your opinion. Why the change?

I used to think the two felines we got are nice and sweet. I’m beginning to feel they are not that nice or sweet. Yesterday they managed to scatter my books all over the place.

When we first got them they were very obedient , if I said no, they’d listen to me, now they give me a wide-eyed glance and question my authority, they stop for few seconds and continue to be evil i.e  they knock everything on the floor and dance around.

They ate anything we dished out now they sniff and leave. They hate dry food it used to  be their favorite, if we mix it with moist food they’d eat the moist and leave the dry in the bowl.

Why do I think they are not sweet, they’ve developed a don’t care attitude, which I detest. If they get up on the piano and try to knock the light down, I spray them with water, they continue to be evil,the water does not work any more. I think I’m right to think they are not sweet or nice anymore!

DP Daily Prompts: Nosey Delights

From the yeasty warmth of freshly baked bread to the clean, summery haze of lavender flowers, we all have favorite smells we find particularly comforting, What’s yours?

This month my favorite smell which is particularly comforting is food, any kind, spicy,non spicy, sweet, sour you name it, I like it.

When I wake up in the morning I’m disheartened when I see the clock tells me it’s eight in the morning, I sit on my comfortable couch and begin counting how many more hours I’d have to wait to smell and eventually eat the food. Would you believe it’s another twelve hours before I get to smell and eat.

While I wait I turn on the TV and watch the food network, there is a show called chopped and another one is ‘Cut throat Kitchen’, this one is amazing how the chefs do everything to get ahead of the next person. It’s helpful to me, my time passes quickly.

Yesterday the sun set at 8.53 pm which meant it was time for me to eat. After fasting so long the craving for food suddenly disappeared.

FURRY:

Furry is my middle name

Running around like crazy

Is my most favorite game

I hop here and I hop there

But I cannot go anywhere!

 

She says she’ll get me some company

Until that time comes I’ll be crazy

Living with humans is not a joke

They make me drink this horrid coke

Can anyone take me to a place

Where there is no human trace!

 

Then again I must agree

These are the best people

Who are taking care of me

They feed me and love me

They’ll do anything for me!

To tell you about my life

Sweet cool comfort these three words sound good by themselves. When I use it as a title for my post. I say to my self what can I write ,if it is a title.  It’s amazing how we are encouraged to write about something we usually do not think about. If I were to choose a title for my post,this would not be it.

So here I am stuck with something I did not anticipate. Will it make me a better writer I have no idea.

Let me see what I can come up with by using the words separately.

When I think of sweet, I visualize a beautiful baby; a sweet person who has a remarkable disposition and is loved by most people; a delicious dessert, sweet aroma which immediately reminds me of a variety of foods. I can relate sweet to sense of smell and taste.

Next is cool, lot of things are cool e.g ice cream, cool temperature, air, cool person. These are some of the words  I associate with the word cool.

The last one is comfort. We all love the word comfort. There are comfort foods,bed and also I sometimes say, ” I am not comfortable with this person, the reason being they’re too judgemental, they are too critical,or too proud. Any one of these negative attitudes will keep me away from these people.

Having said that, when I join the three words together I get an entirely different perspective.

I am now going to see what I can come up with using the ,”Title, Sweet Cool Comfort.”

First thing that jumps in my inner self is my house. Let me describe my place of abode my way.

Situated in North America on the island of Newfoundland and Labrador is ,”my sweet cool comfortable home. It is not a mansion nor a palace. It is a simple abode I call home. It has everything I need to give me comfort. It provides heat in the frozen days of winter and it is cool on hot days of summer. My home provides all the amenities I need . How can I not love it. It is big enough to have a few guests and small enough to take care of it.

I have excellent neighbors who are always ready to help when I need them. The shopping center,super market ,hospital,airport is reasonably close,it doesn’t take more than fifteen minutes to reach any of these places by car. There is public transportation, it takes a little longer, but not because it’s far but  frequent stops the driver needs   to make to drop off passengers.

I am happy with my home,the city where I live my extraordinary neighbors and the unpolluted air. Where will I find all these things!
