A mad scientist friend offers you a chip that would allow you to know what the people you’re talking to are thinking. The catch : you can’t turn it off . Do you accept the chip?
I think I won’t accept the chip, simply because whatever they’re thinking if it’s about me I’d rather not know. Their thoughts maybe negative or positive, I won’t know until I accept the chip.
I remember our school librarian tried to sell me the Newfie dictionary, the price was more than I wanted to pay, he said, “you’re missing something very important, you’d never know what the people are talking about, Newfie’s have their own language, they call it Newfanese, Isn’t it a great idea to know this language in case you hear it and don’t know what is, it’s all in this dictionary.”
His sales pitch didn’t work for me, I told him,”What I don’t understand cannot hurt me”.
Similarly the chip sounds tricky, the people might be thinking about me, good or bad, I’d like to take the safest route by not accepting this device of the mad scientist.

We all have strange relationships with punctuation– do you overuse exclamation marks? Do you avoid semicolons like the plague? What type of punctuation could you never live without? Tell us about your punctuation quirks!
Punctuation is so important, sometimes it becomes tricky, my mind thinks I should use a period, my sentence says make it a little longer or else there’d be someone ready to criticize you. I was criticized once, I disliked the comment I thought this one is trying to assert how good s/h is. I got over it and was happy to notice that one does not come my way.
Do I overuse exclamation mark, I do not think I’m guilty of that, I use it sparingly. I do not use semicolons that much, I just don’t think about them.
I think I use period and comma a lot, I cannot do without them.
