Daily Prompt: Style Icon
Describe your personal style, however you’d like to interpret that — your clothing style, your communication style, your hair style, your eating style, anything.
Let me think what’s my personal style. I wake up at 4.30 AM daily to say my morning prayer. It is called Fajr in Arabic, after my regular prayer, I say special prayers for my Dad, Mom, my siblings who are no longer with us. I also pray for my husband, my brothers -in-law and my mother and father-in-law. I pray for my good friend Mini, my sister-in-law who is unwell. It takes twenty-five minutes to complete the prayers.
After the prayer I go to the kitchen to have breakfast. For breakfast I eat a slice of bread, spread with peanut butter and a cup of sugarless tea, but I add milk.
After breakfast I’m back in my bedroom, I turn on the computer to see if there are any messages and also to find out what is the daily prompt.
If my brain is ready I write the prompt if not I wait and do other things like taking a shower. After the shower I get dressed , I wear a pair of trousers and a shirt . If it is sunny and warm I do not wear a sweater or a thin jacket. If it is cooler than normal I wear a sweater and a fall jacket.
I tie my hair in a pony tail, I do not fuss with my hair, to keep it from covering my eyes I tie it.
I communicate with my friend in Montreal over the phone once every two weeks, sometimes I have so much to tell her, it takes an hour and then some to complete the call. Locally I call the butcher if I want a special cut of beef, the pharmacist for a refill, the physician’s office for an appointment, sometimes it’s for the yearly flu’shot or prescription renewal.
My lunch is very simple,it takes only a few minutes to prepare. I enjoy supper, it’s the only meal when I eat more than breakfast and lunch combined.
This is all about me.

Dear Robert,
Thank you. 🙂
Is the morning prayer always at 4:30 am, or does it vary with the time of year? (I suppose that the specific time is not necessarily important, but being within a certain window.)
Actually it’s not always the same it depends on sunrise. Right now I wake up at 4.30 AM . When the days get shorter, the sunrise time varies. During Ramadan I had to wake up at 2 AM . I had to eat something before prayer and then fast until sunset, it was long I did okay because here in St John’s it was cold, so I wasn’t thirsty. 🙂
I figured that it depended on when the sun rose. There’s no pre-sunrise prayers in Judaism, but certain prayers must be done in the evening before sunset.
Yes our morning prayer does depend on sunrise, it has to be about an hour and a half before sunrise. 🙂
