Day Eleven: Make a Prompt Personal

Today’s assignment : Publish a post based on your own, personalized take on a blogging prompt. My favorite prompt right now is:

Tunnel Vision: these two words immediately reminds me of narrow mindedness, just like retinitis pigmentosa, it’s an incurable disease, while the latter is an eye disease that eventually causes blindness to the patient with this symptom. The former  plays with the mind and  makes it blind.

We make up our mind about things based on generalization.

In my case when they find out  I am a  ‘Bengali’  they  immediately associate it with the word ‘traitor’. How did this thought come to  their minds?

History tells us there was a certain man named ‘Mir Jafar’ was   a Bengali who jeopardized the fate of the people of his country by trading secrets. He did it because of his selfish interest. Mir Jafar was a traitor , hence all Bengalis are traitors.

It seems my being a  Bengali, is a terrible thing. They will discriminate me just because of of this.  It is becoming difficult for me to endure it.

I find  solace thinking , I can do something which makes me happy,  Blogging is one of them. Here everyone is sincere eager to help when I need it , will never ignore me because I am a Bengali.

I had the most pleasant experience a few days ago, I wrote to Michele I was unable to do Day Ten  assignment, I did not understand how it can be done. I found a detailed explanation in my reply box, how to do it. It certainly made my day.

Although in my reply I thanked blogger, Azhar Youssef, yet I felt it is not enough.

I came to the conclusion, not everyone is narrow minded, there are a lot of them who are broad minded, which makes our world pretty special.

365 Writing Prompts: Honorific

October 16th is officially declared “Person X Day”–  and you get to pick Person X . tell us someone who deserves to be commemorated.

I went to Montreal on the 6th of October, I came back last evening. When I read the prompt “Honorific,” it took me by surprise, I am thinking now was there anyone during my recent travel I found deserved the title of “Person X,” I’m glad there is one who deserves it more than anyone else.

He works for “Air Canada,” he was extremely pleasant with  all the passengers on our flight. He helped the passengers with the placement of their handbags, serving tea, coffee, juice etc., I’ve traveled a few times but I’m yet to find someone who loves his job so much, without hesitation, I’m happy to pick him as, “Person X!”

Writing Prompt: Beach, mountain, forest,or somewhere else entirely.

My choice is a cave. Beach,Mountain,or a forest have been there and i hear about them . To me a cave is more exciting. I read people have hollowed out caves for a long time.

We need shelter from the elements, such as wind, rain and what have you. In some parts of the world it was easier for man to carve out warm dry spaces than to use other building methods.Houses are difficult to build ,we need the right kind of material to build them.

The digging of caves  most of the time is easier.  Image by Wikipediaajanta-caves-maharashtra-1963030-o.jpg (1600×1200)

The most famous caves are probably in the loess plains of China. During the ice ages the Gobi desert was cold and windy. The glaciers eroded a huge amount of rock.It produced fine rock dust.During thousands of years a huge amount of this dust were sedimented.

People used this fine sand to build caves. It was considered less work than building a house.

Cave houses built in the hot arid areas is useful, the temperature underground is quite pleasant.

I’d like to try living  in cave house. It might be exciting.

DP Challenge Weekly Writing Challenge: The Sound Of Silence

She sat in a corner of her room. Her face had no expression, yet it seemed she was deep in meditation. I sat next to her thinking she might tell me why she was so quiet, I wanted to ask her if she needed anything, she looked at me held my hand and gave me a kiss. I was afraid something bothered her but she wasn’t going to tell what it was. I never saw anyone look  so calm.

I wondered why I was so anxious to know what was going on perhaps there was nothing to tell. She was enjoying her quiet moment. Then my thought told me a different story.  Some of her siblings turned against her. She never knew what she’d done for them to treat her that way.

Rather than argue with them she decided to stay silent and keep to herself and think of things that were pleasant once upon a time. Yes I believe sometimes silence gives you piece of mind which is hard to get when you are discussing it with someone who can make things worse than better.

No wonder they say,”Silence is Golden!”
