Prothom diner shurjo First Day’s Sun by Tagore Translated by Ranu
The first day’s sun by Rabindranath Tagore
The first day’s sun
inquired
at the presence of a new birth___
who are you?
Did not get a reply.
Years went by.
The last day’s sun
uttered the last question
on the western bank of the ocean
on a still evening__
who are You?
Yet there was no response.
Dear Ranu,
Thank you for this.
What a powerful question…”Who are you?”
I love how it’s noted the setting of the sun “on the western bank of the ocean.”
All good wishes,
robert

All the best to you.

Thank you Robert.
There was no answer because the answer lies in the journey that was between sunrise and the sunset. Amazing. Thanks for this awesome translation.

Inquiry was done to himself for his ” new being” . Word “Sattar natun abirvabe” Very difficult to translate. Great work.
Thank you so much, I appreciate for taking the time to read and your valuable comment. 🙂
